Authentic vintage cast iron wall sconce by Crouse-Hinds Co., Syracuse, N.Y., patented March 28, 1909. This industrial porthole fixture features a heavy-duty casting with hinged front bezel embossed with manufacturer details and secured by original brass knob. Originally designed for railroad or marine use as a search light.

Recently rewired with brown twisted fabric cord, brown bakelite inline switch, and period-appropriate plug. The lower section has been modified—window and reflector cut to direct light downward along the wall, creating dramatic accent lighting.

Measuring 11¼ inches in diameter with a 9-inch window opening. Pre-drilled mounting holes for secure wall installation (requires solid mounting into beam due to substantial weight). A statement piece that brings authentic industrial character to any space.
